the academy at austin's cosmetology course is designed to inspire the artist within you. At the academy, the focus is on the learning process. We refer to our students as future professionals, because they are well on their way to becoming successful professionals in this amazing industry. Our future professionals develop into successful salon professionals in a 1500-hour course based on the rigorous technical training standards and professional business development education. The training is based on the belief that we all learn and grow in supportive environments that closely resemble the work experience. Future professionals, at the academy, learn in a state of the art facility and experience client situations that emulate a professional salon environment. Our well-trained and successful learning leaders guide, mentor, and coach our future professionals throughout the education process. Classes are limited to 25 per start date; we offer both part-time night, full-time day classes, and a hardship program for those who qualify.
CORE – Learn the rules! In this introductory course, you’ll learn the basics that will let you confidently begin working on guests, and your Learning Leaders will help you blend professional skills with personal development.
ADAPTIVE – Apply the rules! Building on the skills you learned in CORE, this intermediate level teaches the value of time management, retailing, and the art of successful communication.
CREATIVE – Expand the rules! This final phase takes you through advanced hairdressing and chemical work. During your last months and weeks toward graduation, you'll spend your time in high gear, preparing yourself for your future salon career.
